Gimli son of Glóin treads the high paths of Erebor (the Lonely Mountain). The painting of Gimli was hugley influenced by Scottish/Irish Clans and Tartans; hence the rich blues and greens and leather breastplate. The weapons have been painted dull (iron from the Iron Hills) purposely, I have always thought that Dwarves wouldn't waste precious metals on Orcs; the shield again was inspired by the Bucklers/small round shields that the clans often use.

From the start, it was beautiful :) It turned out even better than I expected it would. I'm no art expert, but speaking as just a person, it's great. I guess my favorite is Gimli's beard :)
Thank you as ever my friend, you have a wonderful weekend, best wishes as ever, Joe.
