The road goes ever on.
As the sun sets in the Shire and the moon rides high over Bag end Bilbo the hobbit can be seen in his old dwarf adventuring clothes; any close enough to hear will hear the words to a very famous walking song:-
Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains in the moon.
Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star,
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.

Smaug The Magnificent (Inside Information).
The jewel encrusted Smaug Rests atop his magnificent hoard, while in the far left archway Bilbo the burglar Baggins makes off with a treasure.
Smaug was intimately familiar with every last item within his hoard, and instantly noticed the theft of a relatively inconsequential cup by Bilbo Baggins. According to Tolkien, his rage was the kind which "is only seen when rich folk that have more than they can enjoy lose something they have long had but never before used or wanted."
The painting is based on a passage from the Hobbit and retells the story of Bilbo's encounter with Smaug the
Dragon.
Acrylic on heavily textured canvas.
Size:- 12 x 8 inches.
