Gandalf (The colours of Saruman) Acrylic/Oil on textured canvas.

Gandalf (The colours of Saruman)

Gandalf (StormCrow) deep in thought departs Isengard  in the midst of a strange and powerful storm.  Orthanc the black tower (the domain of Saruman) is barely visible on the horizion shrouded by a magical storm of many colours.

First and foremost when approaching any painting is that the finished work stands up as a piece of art. I like the idea that you can see the brush marks, energy and that  the finished work is not overly painted; the intention is to capture a mood, make an impression rather than worrying about painting every little detail.
